North Lanarkshire Carers Together (NLCT) has launched the new referral guide for Carer Breather projects across North Lanarkshire for 2023-2025.
Carer Breather projects support unpaid carers to have time out of their caring role in their local communities, or North Lanarkshire wide depending on need. Some services offer carer-specific support, while others provide support to carers and the person they care for together.
11 projects have been funded for the years 2023-2025, including:
- Bazooka Arts
- Getting Better Together Shotts
- Glenboig Development Trust
- North Lanarkshire Disability Forum
- One Parent Families Scotland
- Pamis
- Parkinson’s Self Help Group North Lanarkshire
- Play Peace
- The Haven
- The Health and Wellness Hub
- Watch Us Grow
Carers can self-refer to the Carer Breather projects. However, involving partners in the statutory and third sector, or community and voluntary sector, in signposting and referrals is key to ensuring as many carers as possible gain access to these innovative services.
We have launched the up to date referral guide aimed at carers and partners so that carers are aware of the new services available to them, and to encourage partners to signpost and refer carers they come into contact with who would benefit from Carer Breather support.
The Carer Breather Referral Guide 23-25 can be accessed here. It contains information on who each service supports and how to enquire about accessing services.
You can view the North Lanarkshire map to see where Carer Breather services are located here.
