Following a successful year of the first ever funded Carer Breather projects in North Lanarkshire, Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire announced in November that there will be a new round of funding made available next year. This will run from 2023-2025 with funding allocated in April 2023.

We expect the application process for this round of 2 year funding, totalling £600,000 across all projects, to go live at the end of this month. The application forms will be launched by VANL with clear guidance on the application process and on updates to how the Carer Breather projects will run during this funding round.

Information around using the Carer Pathway Toolkit as standard for future funded projects will be provided. The aim of this is to support the identification of carers currently unknown to carer services in North Lanarkshire, have good conversations on carer rights and support signposting to relevant organisations. Training will be provided by the Carer Information and Engagement Team at NLCT.

A timeline of the process from end of January until decisions being made ahead of April 2023 will also be outlined. Information on support provided to applicants by the Carer Network Lead based at North Lanarkshire Carers Together will also be outlined.

Please sign up to the VANL funding newsletter and alerts to ensure you receive the funding alert. We will also send this out to our professional members at NLCT via email which you can sign up to by scrolling to the bottom of our website homepage, publicise across our social media channels and distribute information directly to the Carer Support Network membership.
