North Lanarkshire Carers Together (NLCT) has unveiled a comprehensive Referral Guide to assist unpaid carers and professionals in navigating the Carer Breather Programme’s offerings. This initiative, funded by University Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire (UHSCNL) and facilitated by NLCT, aims to provide accessible, preventative short breaks tailored to carers’ needs.
The Carer Breather Programme collaborates with 15 local community organisations to deliver a diverse range of activities, including therapeutic art sessions, relaxation groups, and volunteer-led sitter services. These services are designed to offer carers regular breaks, promoting their health and wellbeing.
The newly released Referral Guide offers detailed information on each participating organisation, outlining the services provided, locations, schedules, and contact details for referrals. They facilitate activities and social gatherings, providing carers with opportunities to unwind and connect with peers, either on their own or with the person(s) they care for.
