How We Help

Our dedicated team will listen to your needs, provide information in a clear and accessible way, and connect you with relevant services through our active signposting and referral service.

Accessible to All Carers

We strive to ensure our services are inclusive and accessible to everyone, including minority ethnic carers, LGBTQIA+ carers, disabled carers, and those in rural areas. We offer multilingual support via Language Line, enabling communication in over 200 languages, including British Sign Language (BSL).

Our Hub and Spoke Approach

We work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, Health and Social Care and 3rd Sector partners to ensure carer information is available in local areas across North Lanarkshire.

NLCT Carers Podcast

In 2022 we launched our new podcast. A podcast is an audio programme, a little like a talk radio programme, but you subscribe to it on your smartphone, tablet or laptop and listen to it at any time which suits you.

A great way to spend a spare half hour for some you time! You can find NLCT Carers Together podcast on all the usual Android, Apple and Spotify platforms and sometimes hearing other people’s stories helps remove some of the isolation and loneliness that we know many carers can feel. We regularly invite both carers and a range of guests to showcase examples of services which benefit carers. You can access the NLCT podcast here.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Each year during National Carers Week >>, we host a large event for the benefit of carers. While Annual General Meetings are a statutory requirement for charities like ours, it is very much a celebration event and an opportunity for carers to hear about a range of services available to them and we provide a few hours of time for you followed by a nice lunch.

NEWSLETTER

A way of keeping up to date with rich information on services across North Lanarkshire as well as newsflashes on our own services, you can sign up to our Newsletter by registering with us on the Home Page.

ANNUAL COMMITMENT TO CARERS

Each year, in partnership with carers, carer services and wider statutory and 3rd sector partners we will plan and facilitate an annual Commitment to Carers event celebrating achievements, success stories and recognising the contributions of unpaid carers. These events will be a carer led celebration with carers at the heart of planning and delivery. Watch this space!
