Carer Aware Workshops

RAISING AWARENESS, EMPOWERING CARERS

At NLCT, we believe that knowledge is a powerful tool for both carers and those who support them. Our Carer Aware Workshops are designed to ensure unpaid carers, professionals, and community groups understand carers’ rights, challenges, and the support available to them.

Interactive and Engaging

What is the Carer Aware Service?

The Carer Aware service provides interactive workshops that educate participants about the essential aspects of caring, key elements of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016, and the critical role carers play in our communities. These sessions are open to carer groups, community organisations, and professionals who interact with carers regularly.

  • Challenges and Barriers: Insights into the hurdles carers face and the impact on their daily lives.

  • Partnership Approaches: Practical guidance on working collaboratively with carers as equal partners in care (EPIC).
  • Support and Resources: Information on available services and tools to support carers in their roles.

Why Choose Carer Aware Workshops?

These workshops foster understanding, empathy, and practical knowledge, empowering participants to:

  • Identify and support carers effectively.
  • Recognise the benefits of involving carers in decision-making.
  • Provide better services and support that cater to carers’ unique needs.

Interactive and Engaging Format

The workshops encourage participation through discussions and peer learning, creating an inclusive environment where attendees can share experiences and insights.

What participants say…

“Great session today! So much out there, and if we can help raise awareness and get people linked into services, it will benefit both our staff and patients.”

“You were a superstar today as we knew you would be with all the experience you bring. The relaxed atmosphere you created made it a perfect blend of information and insights.”

“I just want to thank you both so much for attending ward 1 and delivering the carer awareness session today. As you know we had staff from ward 1, 2 and 3 in attendance and feedback from staff was very positive and the session was very well received.”
