  • Part-time: 21 hours per week
  • Salary: NLCT2 (£16,080 – £17,610 pro-rata; £26,800 – £29,351)
  • Contract: Permanent
About Us:

We’re North Lanarkshire Carers Together – a carer-led charity founded in 2001, born from unpaid carers who came together to demand recognition, rights, and better support.

We’re proud to be commissioned by University Health & Social Care North Lanarkshire to deliver vital Information, Advice & Campaigning Services, Breaks from Routine, and specialist family support.

Our vision is clear: a place where every unpaid carer is valued as an equal partner in care, fully informed of their rights, and able to live a meaningful life alongside their caring role.

We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference to join our friendly, dedicated team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide expert information & support – deliver clear, accessible advice, signposting and referrals to services for support such as short breaks, advocacy, income maximisation and Adult Carer Support Plans tailored to each carer’s needs.
  • Build partnerships – work hand-in-hand with health, social care and third-sector organisations to uphold carers’ rights under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.
  • Raise awareness – deliver our Carer Aware training, organise and attend key events like Carers Week, Carers Rights Day and our Commitment to Carers gatherings.
  • Amplify carers’ voices – gather feedback through forums, focus groups and consultations to shape better local services.
  • Help us grow – keep accurate records, support our communications, and represent NLCT professionally across the community.

Some occasional evening/weekend work will be needed for events – we’ll always plan this fairly with you.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar support/information role
• Great communication skills – able to connect with people from all backgrounds
• Able to research, summarise and share information clearly
• Confident working on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office 365)
• Understanding of the challenges unpaid carers face, plus a working knowledge of carers’ rights and legislation
• Empathetic, non-judgmental approach and commitment to equality & inclusion
• Willingness to travel, work flexible hours and work from home as needed

Desirable:

• Experience in the third sector or with carer organisations
• Knowledge of Charity Log software
• Relevant qualification in health, social care or community work
• Understanding of local health & social care structures
• Bi/multi-lingual skills
